Various memorable activities

The major attractions at the Nagarjunasagar Tiger reserve, apart from the exciting wildlife species are the beautiful waterfalls-Saileswaram serpent waterfall, Ethipothala, and Chaleswaram fall being just some of them.

Ancient ruins of the Nagarjuna Viswa Vidyalam which was run by the great Buddhist scholar Nagarjunacharyra are also found here. Temples symbolizing the mythological stories of the grand dynasties of the medieval world and our mighty Gods are one of the major attractions of this abundant reserve. These ruins surrounded by the forest cover transport you deeper into the wild and ancient ways in which the generations before us used to live.

The two mammoth project dams called the Nagarjunasagar and Srisailam dam will show you the might of the modern against the natural backdrop of River Krishna and the grand waterfalls.

Where to stay?

Accommodation is available in the Guest Houses and cottages in the Reserve itself near the temples within the sanctuary. Suites are available in the Forest Rest Houses and lodging is available in the PWD guesthouses at Nagarjunasagar as well.

Months for travelling/ Ideal time
October to June, avoid hot summers

When to visit?

October to June is the best time to visit Nagarjunasagar as the months after June would be too hot for you to spot any animals as they prefer to hide in the valleys at this time.
